Turkey Place Cards

We have found a charming accent for your Thanksgiving table.  These adorable turkeys are an easy craft project for the younger children at your holiday gathering, or you can make them ahead of time and use them as a place card at each table setting.  We worked with ten year old twins, Cain and Jaeger, who both let their imagination roll and created some very festive turkeys.
Step One – Gather your supplies; round wooden beads (make sure a hole is on both ends of the bead), lollipops, silk leaves, wooden hearts, glue gun, felt tip pens and scissors.  As you will notice in the photos below we also used construction paper, ribbon, lace, glitter glue and cut-out pictures.  Use your imagination and have FUN!
Step Two- Draw face on round wooden bead using a black marker for the eyes and a red marker for the beak and forehead.
Step Three- Slide round wooden bead on stem of sucker and glue in place.  Glue the wooden heart to the bottom of the sucker (make sure the head is facing the bumps of the heart) leaving room for the tail feathers (leaves).
Step Four – Layer your leaves and glue one layer to the other, then glue them to the back and bottom of the sucker.  FINISHED J
