Here is a quick idea for your holiday table!
What you will need to make butter stars:

A firm surface - I used a cookie sheet
Butter - softened to room temperature
Wax Paper
Small Cookie cutter |

Be sure butter is at room temperature. |
 |
Spread butter on your firm surface. Do not spread to thin. Put in refrigerator for at least 20 minutes or until firm. |

Using a small cookie cutter, cut the hardened butter and place on your dish. |
 |
Layer cut out butter with wax paper between layers. Return to refrigerator until you are ready to serve. |
